Hi! my name is Marta and I love minimal, zero waste, simple living.
My zero waste journey started with soap making: for me, it was the first step to take control on the waste I was producing as well as what I was putting on my skin. I then went ahead and discovered the fascinating world of zero waste haircare.
I truly think that zero waste living is actually simple if you follow the right steps!
"Soap making is the closest thing to a potion class you'll ever get. Not a Harry Potter fan? Fear not, you'll still get that amazing sense of empowerment. Taking the time to dose ingredients, blend them, see the saponification happen, and then finally cure your bars... A technique so ancient, yet terribly fascinating! I like to think that making soap is like making a gift to your future self, when you will be using that deliciously smelling bar of soap :)"

"I discovered soap making by chance through a friend of mine and it immediately struck me. At the beginning I thought it was quite dangerous to use lye to make something apparently so easy and “innocent” let’s say.
With experience I’ve learned that nothing bad can happen if you are careful and that on the other hand making soap gives you the opportunity to explore your creativity mixing different ingredients and additives including flowers and herbs. The feeling of making something for yourself for free is something not only useful but absolutely priceless!"

"I learned to make soaps with Marta from Bottega Zero Waste. When I came to London I started to be interested in Zero Waste living. Since I've been making my own soaps, I stopped buying supermarket's ones with toxic ingredients.
Making soap is a really healthy hobby for me, and the process to make them is very therapeutic, I feel so relaxed! I'm so happy I learned how to formulate because now I can mix flavours and have the freedom to customise my soaps"
